Congratulations to our collaborators (Christopher Neufeldt and Ralf Bartenschlager), Pietro and Andreas for the most recent paper published in Nature Microbiology. It characterizes atlastin proteins as to change their interaction profile after virus infection and to be required for dengue virus replication.
After three years in the lab with us it’s time to say goodbye to Hannah. You’ve helped so many people during your time here, I’d bet you’ve affected almost every project we worked on.

Congratulations to Pietro for winning a Max-Planck Institute of Biochemistry Junior Research award that honor the best publications published at the Max-Planck Institute of Biochemistry in the past year. First in our lab’s history to get this prestigious award! Well done, Pietro (and great talk at the ceremony)!
Last week we took part in the joined retreat of the Institutes of Virology, Molecular Immunology and
Experimental Oncology in Herrsching. There were many interesting talks, as well as an entertaining Science Slam and a fun scientific quiz. We had a great time learning more about ongoing projects at the institutes and look forward to many fruitful collaborations.
Four months ago, Lucie joined us for her MSc internship. It’s been a blast having you here. We hope you learned many useful skills that will become useful when back in Paris. Best of luck for the future and for temporarily strengthening the french community in our lab!
